- replace traditional userid and password mechanisms with certificate-based two-factor authentication systems;
- enforce message confidentiality and integrity of both client-to-server and server-to-server communication through encryption and digital signatures;
- secure information and data exchange via FTP and HTTP;
- protect archived data from unauthorised access and tampering; and
- effect non-repudiation through digital signatures.

Since the setup of the company in 1997, Netrust has provided government agencies and private organisations with the tools necessary for trusted e-commerce through the issuance and management of PKI digital certificates. Over the years, Netrust has continually upgraded its Certificate Authority (CA) system to ensure that it meets international standards for security and interoperability. As a testament to the streamlined business and operational processes within Netrust, the Controller of Certification Authorities, IDA, awarded the CA License to Netrust in Jun 2001.
To enhance the value of digital certificates as a security offering, Netrust has also constantly worked with leading edged technology vendors to bring a suite of applications that customers can use to leverage their investment in PKI. These include solutions for secure email, desktop file and folder protection, single sign-on, secure VPNs, office workflow, and even content management and filtering.
The addition of the Security Consulting Group now gives Netrust the ability to provide a complete suite of security services and solutions, whether it be to end-customers, partners or third-party systems integrators.
