"Netrust was officially launched with a big
bang on 30 July 1997 by Mr Lee Ek Tieng, Managing Director of the Monetary Authority
of Singapore. The event was a huge success, with over 600 people from the financial
and IT industries, as well as representatives from organisations interested
in the technology, coming to find out more about Netrust.
In conjunction with the launch, there was a Netrust
Ready Showcase at the National Computer Board foyer. There were over 30 booths
exhibiting E-commerce solutions by Netrust various partners like. The exhibits
drew a lot of interest, thanks to the wide array of products and services.
