A digital certificate is an
electronic document that is digitally signed by an issuing Certification
Authority using its unique private key. This allows senders to authenticate
themselves to their recipients
Netrust offers digital certificates for individuals (personal certificates), Netrust NetIDs are digital certificates that are issued to individuals for personal or corporate use. They render full support for 1024 bit encryption/ decryption and digital signing, and can be delivered via memory/cryptographic smartcards, tokens or disk-based media to give you complete digital credential portability so you can work securely from anywhere at any time.
Smartcards or tokens do, however, provide higher levels of security as:
members of organisations (corporate certificates), as well as servers.

Together with NetIDs, NetServer certificates provide you full support for 1024bit end-to-end online transactional security.
